Eligibility for Financial Aid

Eligibility for financial aid includes these requirements:

Be making satisfactory academic progress
Be admitted as a degree-seeking student in an eligible program
Be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen
Provide any requested information
Mail or file electronically a FAFSA or a Renewal Application to the federal processing agency, listing BSU's code (001616)
Have financial need (except for some loan programs)
Have a high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate, or pass an ability to benefit test
Have a valid Social Security Number
Not be in default on a prior student loan and not owe a refund or repayment on a grant or other federal aid
Register with the Selective Service if you are a male born after December 31, 1959 and at least 18 years old
Students eligible for the Federal Pell Grant: The amount of your Pell award will be determined by the number of credits for which you are enrolled on the 10th day of the semester (census date). Any credits added after this date will not increase your Pell award amount, even if your class or internship starts after the 10th day of the semester. (For students who apply for aid later in the semester, Pell eligibility is established on the day Boise State receives the results of your application).
