FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS OFFICE Freshmen/Transfer Students

Deadline:  February 15, 2008

Boise State University offers many scholarships for outstanding freshmen and transfer students as they pursue academic excellence at Boise State. Several of the scholarships are renewable. We also offer non-resident tuition assistance programs for non-resident freshmen and transfer students. Students are automatically considered for Boise State scholarships if they submit all admission materials to the Admissions Office no later than February 15th.

To be eligible for these scholarships, freshmen/transfer students must meet the following criteria:

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Admissions must receive all materials by February 15th, 2008

If applicable, submit the Supplemental Scholarship Form or other departmental/college applications.

File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) by February 15th, 2008

The President's Civic Leadership Scholarship

Thirty renewable scholarships will be awarded annually.  These awards will be at two levels, with differing criteria and award amounts.  There will be 12 recipients at the Blue Circle Level and 18 recipients at the Orange Circle Level.  The President's Civic Leadership Scholarship Committee will select the recipients based on the listed criteria.  Questions regarding the Presidents Civic Leadership Scholarship program should be addressed to the Executive Director of Student Development's Office at 208-426-1551 or pres_civic_scholarship@boisestate.edu.

 

                                        Capital Scholars
The Capital Scholars program recognizes Idaho's outstanding high school juniors who are in the top ten percent of their high school class and also score within the top ten percent of a national standardized test. Each spring these students are invited to an on campus program to recognize their achievements. At the on campus program each Capital Scholar receives a renewable $1,000 scholarship to use for up to five years at Boise State.                                     Langroise Distinguished Scholars

Students who have been named as a National Merit Finalist by the National Merit Corporation may be eligible to become a Langroise Distinguished Scholar at Boise State University. Langroise Distinguished Scholars receive a renewable full tuition scholarship and an annual $2,500 stipend to assist with other educational expenses. In addition, students will be considered for other Boise State University scholarships.
