Expecting Financial Aid for 2008-2009?

Many of you are probably anxious to hear from Boise State about your 2008-2009 financial aid award. Please note:

Boise State is importing applications and awarding
2008-2009 FAFSA aid weekly

9056 students have been awarded 2008-2009 federal and state aid
as of May 9th!

On BroncoWeb, click on "Financial Aid To Dos," even if there is a 0,
then click "08-09".
You will see a message that indicates
whether or not Boise State has your FAFSA results.

If you do not see a financial aid award on BroncoWeb within 2 weeks of submitting the FAFSA, follow the steps below to troubleshoot your situation:

bullet The FAFSA Processor will send you an email message after they have processed your application and sent it to your schools.
bullet If you haven't received an email, return to the FAFSA web site to check the status of your application. www.fafsa.ed.gov
bullet Carefully read your Student Aid Report (SAR) which is available from the FAFSA processor, your application may have a "rejected" status
  >  if you have a PIN number, you can read or print your entire Student Aid Report (SAR) online. Click here for a direct link to that web site.
>  you can also telephone a request for a SAR to be mailed to you. Call 1.800.433.3243

bullet If your FAFSA has been rejected, you will need to make corrections to it before Boise State can process it.
bullet FAFSAs are most commonly rejected because of missing signatures or blank fields. You will find specific instructions directly on your Student Aid Report.
bullet Double check to make certain that you have listed Boise State University AND your housing plans while you are attending classes.
bullet If you have completed your 2007 federal taxes since submitting your FAFSA, you will need to make corrections based on the income information found on your tax return.
  > Click here for a direct link to the FAFSA corrections online
> Remember that the corrections also need to be signed by the student (and a parent if student is classified as "dependent.")

bullet Log into BroncoWeb frequently to see the status of your financial aid application at Boise State. Especially check the Admissions and Financial aid "To Do Items" on your BroncoWeb records to see if you need to submit any documents or information to either office.
bullet Use the Application Checklist for other activities you may need to complete before receiving your financial aid.
