How Many Credits Do You Need for Financial Aid?

The credit requirements for summer financial aid are identical to fall and spring semester!
Full time enrollment = 12 credits

It depends on the type of financial aid you have been awarded. The list below provides a quick reference.

Pell Grant 1 - 12 or more credits*
Idaho Promise 12 credits
Perkins Loan 12 credits
Ford Direct Subsidized & Unsubsidized Loans Half-time**
Work-study award Half-time**
PLUS Loans Half-time**
Scholarships Varies ~ Usually 12 or more

* The amount of Pell Grant is reduced when you enroll in fewer than 12 credits, however, nearly all Pell Grant recipients will receive some Pell Grant even when they are part-time students

** Half-time is 6 or more credits for Undergraduate; and 5 or more graduate credits for Graduate students.
