A Warning will be given to students the first time the Credit Completion Rate Standard is not met
SAP will be reviewed after each semester for all students enrolled that semester
Two consecutive incidents of a Credit Completion Rate violation will result in a Hold that makes the student ineligible for financial aid
Only undergraduate credits will be reviewed for students most recently enrolled as undergraduates (previously undergraduate and applied technology credits were combined)
Developmental credits (e.g. Math 025 and English 090) will be excluded from credit completion rate calculations. * Developmental credits still count as financial aid eligible credits when determining credit loads for Pell Grant amounts, student loans and other aid.
Challenge, Test, and English as a Second Language credits will be counted as credits attempted and completed, when a passing grade is received for the course
Specific appeal instructions have been provided for Maximum Credit Appeals
GPA requirements for undergraduates will be monitored by the Registrar's Office only
Highlights of Remaining Policy:
The maximum attempted credits allowed for a degree or certification is still no more that 150% of the credits required to complete the degree.
The first time the Maximum Credit Standard is violated, the student will be ineligible for financial aid.
Students are required to pass 75% of all credits attempted at Boise State for their current status, such as undergraduate, graduate, or second undergraduate student.
Repeating a class that a student previously passed will still lower the credit completion rate.
University excluded credits continue to be counted as withdraws -- attempted, but not completed credits.
If multiple Holds existing due to SAP, a Hold making a student ineligible for aid overrides any warning or probation Holds.
Credits completed are defined as all classes for which a student receives a passing grade of "D-" or better, or "P."
