You may be excited to see what financial aid you will be awarded for next Fall 2012 and Spring 2013. So are we!
Awarding financial aid for the next academic year will begin in mid- to late-March. At that time, the BroncoWeb self-service features will be turned on for students and families.
In the meantime, double check your FAFSA...
Check www.fafsa.gov to see your Student Aid Report (SAR). If you can see an Expected Family Contribution (EFC), it means that your FAFSA has not been rejected. That's a good thing!
If your FAFSA has been rejected, read the instructions on the SAR to see what caused the rejection. Typically it is because a student or parent signature is missing, or the amount for "Taxes Paid" is the same or more than the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). (While it may feel like all your income is going to taxes, that would be very unlikely.)
Make certain Boise State is listed on your Student Aid Report.
If you estimated your income, and now 2011 taxes have been completed, make corrections to your FAFSA. Remember that both the parent and dependent student need to sign the FAFSA each time corrections are made to it.Using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, after logging into FAFSA, is the best method for updating the income information.
