Verification selection begins early April...

For many students, this is after you have been awarded 08-09 financial aid.
 

Many students will be selected after being awarded aid. You must still comply with the Financial Aid To Do items or you will see a delay with your aid disbursement.

Verification selection is occurring later so you have an opportunity to complete your taxes and to make corrections to your FAFSA. When you correct your FAFSA, be sure to change questions pertaining to your tax filing status and type of tax return used.

By waiting until April to select students for verification, we anticipate that fewer students will need to have their FAFSA verified. Applications selected for verification are those that appear to have one or more errors that will impact their financial aid award. The more thorough you can be in reviewing and correcting the FAFSA, the less likely you are for being selected for verification. Especially pay careful attention to Worksheets A, B, and C on the FAFSA.
