Summer work-study job details can be tricky because of federal regulations and the transition from one financial aid year to the next. Take these factors into account as you plan for the summer 2008:
  Summer 2008 Work-Study Class Enrollment Requirement
bullet To earn work-study funds between May 16 - June 28, you must be enrolled at least half-time for summer classes.
  • 6 or more credits for undergraduate and applied tech students
  • 5 or more credits for graduate students

Other Summer Work-Study Details

bullet Students graduating spring semester may not work after May 15.
bullet June 28 is the 2007-2008 deadline for using up the last of your 2007-2008 work-study award.
bullet Work-study students employed starting July 1 will need to have a 2008-2009 work-study award in place.
bullet In addition, starting July 1 you must be as be registered at least half time as a degree-seeking student for fall 2008.
bullet AND, you must be "eligible" for the aid awarded to you. If you have one or more financial aid holds indicating that you are ineligible for aid, you are also ineligible for work study funds.
bullet Employers need to fill out a new Employee Action Form for the 2008-2009 year for continuing work-study employees
bullet You need to complete a new W-4 form in the Human Resources Office.
