New for 2017-2018
Year Round Pell Grant
If you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant according to your 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), then you can receive the Pell Grant for summer 2018 classes. For some students, there is a requirement to enroll at least half-time (6+ credits) to receive a summer Pell Grant.
If you enrolled full-time (12+ credits) and received the full-time Pell Grant for fall 2017 and spring 2018, you must enroll at least half-time (6+ credits) to receive a summer Pell Grant. Learn more about year round Pell Grants.
Perkins Loan Program is Ending
The Perkins Loan Program is ending on Oct. 1, 2017. Only students who receive a Perkins Loan disbursement before Oct. 1, 2017 can be eligible for a Perkins Loan for fall 2017 or spring 2018.
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy
Comprehensive GPA requirements will change in the 2017-18 academic year, with new standards for undergraduate students seeking a first bachelor’s degree. Students with 0-25 earned credits will need to have a 1.75 comprehensive GPA. Students with 26 or more earned credits need a 2.0 comprehensive GPA according to the 2017-2018 Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy.
Early Financial Aid Application (Early FAFSA)
The 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) opened on Oct. 1, 2016 and requires income information from the 2015 tax year.
