  • How to Apply for Scholarships

    The Financial Aid and Scholarships Office oversees a range of scholarships that are funded by the university and donors who support Boise State. In order to be considered for these scholarships, students must complete the Boise State Scholarship Application annually. When completing the annual application, please review specific scholarship opportunity criteria and related deadlines.

    The Boise State Scholarship Application completion is encouraged for all students. You must be fully admitted and active in a Boise State program to receive any Boise State Scholarship award.

  • Important Information for Newly Admitted Students

    New students must have an assigned Boise State ID number and active my.BoiseState account to complete the scholarship application. To get a Boise State ID number and my.BoiseState account, you must first apply for admissions to Boise State University.

    Specific questions regarding your admission application should be directed to the Boise State Admissions Office.

  • Important Application Instructions

    Please be prepared to provide essays, email contact for individuals providing letters of recommendation, or other documents that may be required. These documents must be uploaded to your online application prior to the scholarship opportunity deadline. The application will state if letters of recommendation, essays, etc. are required for a scholarship. All document attachments become the property of Boise State and will not be returned.

    If you encounter problems or have questions while using the Boise State Scholarship application, please view the Application Help and Frequently Asked Application Questions. Some users may experience slow website performance as the deadline approaches.

    If selected for a scholarship award, notification will be sent to your BroncoMail account (the Boise State official email service). University policy requires students to monitor their BroncoMail account regularly.

    Most awards will be announced by May 1st.

  • External Scholarships

    A variety of scholarships are available from various organizations and individuals. Criteria for External Scholarships vary greatly from scholarship to scholarship, but generally include academic performance, financial need, religious affiliation, minority status, heritage, community affiliations, or other unique criteria important to the sponsoring individual or organization. Students are encouraged to pursue as many External Scholarships as possible.
